Seattle's (and Tacoma's) Best

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a lovely week...and now that it's the weekend, I leave you with oodles of pictures of my trip up to Seattle. As I said earlier, Benni surprised me with a trip up to Washington for Valentine's Day, and I got to meet some of his family and they took us all around downtown Tacoma and Seattle. So I apologize if I don't know the names of places I went - I'm a bad tourist! (except for how many pictures I take everywhere I go. Yeesh.)

Gidget, the family dog, was understandably skeptical of my mad photo skills.

At the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Benni feeds the goats.

Suki, the 43(!) year old elephant. She was a rescue from a circus that physically tortured her, but now she's happy and healthy. And a diva.

That tiger is headed straight.for.me.

I am the walrus...

We couldn't ever quite figure out what that polar bear was looking at...unless it was trying to trick us...tricksy polar bears!

The high school from 10 Things I Hate About You. Yes, I'm a dork.

Just like the one at the Bellagio in Vegas! But, you know...rainier.

Rock...candy? Really big rock candy? For the troll?*

Downtown Tacoma at dusk. Notice I didn't say sunset...silly, there is no sun in Tacoma!

View of Union Station from the Not Bellagio Glass Sculpture Thing. Er....yeah.

Pike Place Market in Seattle!

Original Starbucks. Hells yeah!

Red Hot Chili Peppers

*Stupid trolls...always hanging out under bridges. And eating really big rock candy.

I bet the security deposit is huge. Plus, your neighbors might be loud and eat children.

Waterfalls...somewhere...in Washington State. Of that I am sure.

So that was my trip, nutshelled into pictures! I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will catch you on Monday...with more tattoo details ;)

Happy Friday!

Are those apartments under a bridge? That doesn't seem safe?

That's also the high school of our beloved JenniPatti!

Love the photos!

UGH! It makes me miss Seattle soooooo much. I haven't been there in ages and I miss home. Sigh.

And those are the Snoqualmie Falls. I LOVE that place! It's so pretty. :) Did you eat at Dick's Burgers?

When I went with my bestie to Seattle ten years ago, the sun was out and the entire town, even though it was 60 degrees, was out sunning themselves. We didn't realize it was the first time they had seen the sun ever.

Great photos. Makes me want to go there in the rain.

This is so weird to look at photos of my home on your blog! What took you to Tacoma (other than the awesome zoo/aquarium)?

I didn't realize there were so many Trolls in Seattle. No wonder all the Grunge.

Great pics. And I don't think the 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU pic was dorky at all. Awesome movie. Glad you had a great trip. Now you get a weekend to recover from your vacation. Excellent planning:-)

That is the craziest thing cause we went to Seattle this past weekend too! What if we were standing next to each other at a certain point?

Wonderful pictures, Phoenix. It doesn't matter that you don't know all the names, the pictures say so much. You take us on such wonderful journeys to places for me never seen before.

Beautiful pictures! Washington State would be heaven on Earth if there was a little more sunshine now and then

Tacoma is gorgeous at night! Suki is definitely a diva, I'm so glad they rescued her!

1) Yes, we are a very tricksy species of bear.

2) that glass artwork that you keep referring to as being from the Bellagio ... You know that's the artwork of Tacoma Artists Dale Chihuly ... right? He's like ... really famous. REALLY. FAMOUS.

Wow! You saw way more things in Seattle than I did when I was there. I only recognize the public market and starbucks! Of course I was only in the city for about 6 hours.... Glad you two had a wonderful weekend. Love the photos of the animals!!

oh, it makes me miss the Pac. NW (I am from OR). What is the troll theme about though?

Wow, looks like so much fun. And I've never seen a cuter or funnier dog than Gidget! HAHA! So CUTE!

I'm still laughing after the first photo! Gidget OWNS that chair.
Is 43 old for an elephant? I have no idea but I sure am glad she's away from those horrid people at the circus.
The troll was fun...I think I might hesitate to rent an apt with that name.
I've seen a couple Chihuly shows. His work is lovely. And I've seen some in Atlantis, Vegas (the ceiling is wonderful let alone the works in the garden), he has some at the Breakers in Palm Beach...saw it a couple weeks ago... and then the Norton Museum in Palm Beach has a ceiling that is all ocean-oriented. I sat and looked at it for an hour!

Glad you had fun! I've never been to Seattle!

10 Things I Hate About You = remains to this day one of my fave movies ever!!! And I absolutely LOVE Seattle - I love PIke Place and just the whole city. I've only been there once, for a few days (wedding!), but I fell in love. I would live there in a heartbeat!
