Oh thank God.
Yesterday was one of those days where life sort of, oh I don't know, what's a good metaphor, threw up on my shoes? And then drunk dialed me at 2 am to apologize?
And today the internet at my work is acting like a temperamental four year old in line at a Disneyworld ride, so I'm keeping this post short (cue sighs of relief from my readers) but I did want to say thank you, a million times thank you, for your kick ass support. I always hesitate to blog when I'm having a bad moment or crappy day but then there you guys are, either gently chiding me to get some perspective or full on amen-ing me in all my crappy day glory - and I dig both quite a lot. It's all appreciated guys, it does not go unnoticed and your comments really and truly do make my day.
Also, to make my day better, I made an appointment to finally get my very first tattoo. Rest assured this was not in reaction to my crappy day, I've been wanting and planning and saving up for years, it does not involve the words "love" or "Bob", nor is it a dolphin diving into my butt crack. It's a word that I truly, deeply love, my friend Robert personally designed it with his mad calligraphy skills, I'm going to world-famous tattoo artist Pat Fish in Santa Barbara, and I'm about 80% excited, 20% scared.
Yay!
And in other news, did anyone else know that when you add heavy cream and cheese to whatever dish you're making, your day gets approximately 83% better?
Happy Friday, everyone!

Your FIRST TATTOO! Wow! I demand pictures. I have four tattoos and am planning my 5th. I can't wait to see it. And it does NOT hurt if you have a good tattoo artist. None of mine hurt. Blessings and TGIF back to you!
We foodie blogs don't exactly pour our souls out (more like pour our ingredients out) so we don't get so many nasties commenting. Or at least, I haven't. And I've been at this a couple years.
But stick to your guns, Phoenix, I know I am not one of your five closest, but I'm listening.
It's odd though, even with the food bloggers I have come to know well, I can tell their moods by their comments to other bloggers. Just today I thought another blogger was having a bad day. Just by the comments made. And some days I stop myself from commenting at all because it seems everything coming out on the page is sarcastic.
Weird.
My daughter is plotting her second tattoo her first being a rose behind her ear. This was for her middle name and her grandma's name. It is beautiful but now she is saying she wants one down her flank or maybe up and down her spine. I love tattoos (and will get one when I get to my goal weight) but for some reason down her side sounds so extreme. I'm getting old. *sigh.* Although I saw Kat VonD on the Bonnie Hunt show and got a copy of her book and her tattoos are beautiful, so I guess I better get over it~!
I hope you post a picture of your tattoo!
WELL...I'm glad life did at the very least call to apologize ;) lol
YAY!! for your first tattoo...and I am so glad its going to be truly meaningful and that you are getting it done by a professional!! both very important aspects of a tattoo ;)
Happy Friday!!
Happy Friday blog friend. Can't wait to see the new tattoo!
Cannot WAIT to see pics of the new said tat!
ALso... yes, cheese + cream= instant stastistical improvement. thank you for agreeing.
Sending you big hugs..
p.s. i emailed you... need your last name to mail off your package!
I always thought the dolphin down the butt crack was classy. Right up there with the mower on the bikini line...the growing C-Note(which has to be some kind of painful)...but my all time fave is Capt. Jacks eye balls on the eye lids! Have a great weekend.
add a dollop of tomato paste to that cream and cheese mixture and angels sing in your mouth.
i can't wait to see your new tattoo!
perhaps we should make this happen in person...(finally!)
Tattoo suggestion: dolphin diving into heavy cream?
Can't wait to see it. :)
and if you add butter, you make it all the way to 100%. Happy weekend!
WOW! I wanna see the tattoo.
Pictures please..how is it gonna be like?
Your first tattoo don't be surprized if it is not the last one. You most show us! It won't hurt... well not that much depending on the place!
Wow, I'm jealous of your courage. Personally I'm too terrified of needles to go for that kind of self-expression, but there have been many tattoos I've really admired over the years. I'm sure yours will be one of them.
I keep telling you, the best way to keep your spirits high is to look at yourself through the eyes of the people who love you. And yet you're always surprised. :)
Ouch, a tattoo. I'm so excited to see it!! Oh, and yes heavy cream and cheese (and butter) do wonders ;-)
I like how no one asked you what the word is and are nonchalantly, chicly acting like they don't care...."show me pic's!" hahaha that's awesome....tell your folowers silly!
SO true about the cream!
And can't wait to see your new tat!
I'm a little disappointed that you didn't go with the "dolphin diving into your crack".
Nothing screams "class and elegance" like anal-bound sea creatures!
i can't wait to see the tattoo!!!
and i hope you are doing ok!
and where is the cream cheese, the sugar, the heavy cream, and the chocolate?!?!? ahhahahah
Yay a tattoo! I now have 2...*warning* they are addicting (hence, Marion's comment)! Getting a tattoo was a very spiritual experience for me...I know *eye roll*. But seriously, I hate pain...and I went and got it on my lower back (which I one of the most painful spots) and it's not small. But I went alone...making it a journey...and one I am so happy I went on.
OH!!! I am so jealous of your tatoo!!! I have wanted one for so long. Are you going to post photos? XOXO
I know I am a little late on this but I am dying to see your Tat!
Another Marked Woman in the offering.
Can't WAIT to see that tat!! If it's appropriate... ;op
