You are loved. Act like it.

You know those things you don't do, because you're afraid they won't work out?

I'm not talking about wandering into traffic, but the Big Stuff - asking the Big questions, making the Big move, taking the Big leap of faith, running towards the Big life - the things we'd like to do to make our lives Bigger and more full of grace and breathing room, but we hesitate because it's damn hard work that requires an extraordinary amount of courage and inertia. And you know how there's no guarantees, and you might just face-plant in front of everyone and it might require that you face-plant a hundred or a thousand ways before you figure out how to stick the landing?

Do it anyway.

Paint that painting or open that art gallery or be the one who says "I love you" first to the person who makes your heart go thump thump thump or choose to have a baby or choose to not have a baby or decide to make the first move or decide to quit that job that makes you miserable or decide to pack up the kids and spouse and travel the world. Do it.

Do it because you're loved, by whatever name you choose to call it, God, gods, Allah, Buddha, the Universe, the Great Nothingness, the Colors of the Wind, whatever. You are loved. You were loved into existence by something Pretty Damn Big.

Act like it.

You just wrote my bio! Life is all about adventure, and I am not really crazy. I'm just enthusiastic.

Hi Tracy!
Sorry I've been so lax a reader...but I have a good excuse.
I DID make a big move, literally. Big life style change, and let me tell you, it gets harder when you're older.
But I did it and I know I am loved or I'd never have made it.

You are brilliant! Believing we are loved and have a right to happiness is hard for some of us to accept. Acting like it is the step that gets us there. I needed that reminder so thanks for a great kick in that direction.

Very good advice… I’ve been doing it for a while now. I didn’t realize it was love. Good to know☺

You are absolutely correct! I need to do something. You always seem to be doing something. And, I love you...I miss your comments.

My cat certainly loves me, especially around mealtime, and my life loves me too, especially when she wants a spider killed.

Your post reminds me of some song I can't seem to fully remember right now. But "do it" is probably the most sound advice ever.

Including this Joker....This Joker loves you. Loves your writing. Loves how you have grown as a person. Loves the fact that you are not beyond going whacky once in a while.

Do it!....No Fear!

If you're going to fail, fail with flair! Might as well go all out, all in. Leave nothing left on the table but the dust of no regret. I want to live like this. I've not yet learned how to live outside my barriers, but I sure am trying to chop them down.

I have been thinking about this since you posted it. I wanted to respond with a comment that was appropriate to the post. I know that I am not going to go skydiving, race around the world, get married tomorrow, and no babies are in my future, but you have had my mental wheels turning.

How can I push more love forward? And I know that we tend to bring in more of what we give out. So, I have been focusing on the small, daily ways that I can respond differently. Sometimes people annoy the crap out of me. Each time I feel my Annoyance Meter Rise, I deliberately step back and let that feeling drain out. Did you know that it takes approximately two minutes for that feeling to fade? If you can focus on something else it will dissipate entirely. That enables you to push Kindness, Understanding, Forgiveness, Acceptance, Love, and Compassion into that Space where all of that Annoyance used to be.

I can't say that I am a pro at this yet, but I am practicing.

Thank you for this post. It has been Food For Thought for weeks now. I didn't want to post until I actually had some "Progress."
